With our expansive fleet of equipment and experienced back deck personnel we can offer various methods for the decommissioning of products ,either by collection on to a reel and 300Te Hub Drive for onshore processing or shearing product offshore with cut lengths directed into a bunded area.
Our offshore experience in decommissioning includes the recovery of umbilicals on to reels using tensioner and reel drive units and the offshore recovery and shearing of flexible flowlines on board the vessel.
Onshore we have been involved in moving 300Te Reels of product from the quayside utilising our unique Reel Carrier as well as transpooling and shearing of flowlines and umbilicals. Our experienced Technicians commission and operate our equipment on or offshore worldwide
Flowline Specialists can offer many varied solutions for subsea deployment of flexible products. For large 8.6m / 9.2m Reels up to 300Te we can supply our Hub Reel Drive System complete with rails where multiple reels are to be deployed. We can also supply reels if required. Product on smaller diameter reels , 2m to 6m dia up to 125 Te , can be spooled and /or deployed from one of our shaft drive spoolers . We can manufacture whatever interface is required in order to secure the reel on the spooler. Tensioners can be supplied for both of these deployment systems for added control of the products.
Short lengths of flexible pipe, umbilicals or cable (jumpers) can be deployed through our subsea turntable pallet systems. We have pallets ranging in size from 2.8m dia through to 9.8m dia with max load capacity of 35Te, 17.5Te nett with a 100% safety factor.
The flexible jumpers are transpooled from their manufacturer supplied reel or coil on to one of our subsea deployment pallets using a pair of low level hydraulically driven turntables. Packing can be supplied to protect the product which is secured to the pallet with lever hoists and cargo straps. The loaded pallets are then transferred on to the client vessel for deployment. Each pallet has its own dedicated third party certified rigging.
Once subsea the product can be removed vertically from the pallet using vessel crane and swivel then laid down for installation. Where the water depth is insufficient to enable this method to be used there are alternative proven methods of removing the product horizontally from the pallet. A subsea turntable can be used to allow the pallet to be rotated and the product removed via a winch wire on the pulling head. The winch would be located topsides on client vessel or rig.
Another alternative would be to rotate the pallet on a swivel removing the product along the designated route.
